Here are some fun photos from various events leading up to Christmas; whether it was a homemade photo shoot, eating candy canes, stringing lights, or just being silly.

“Have some!”

Jingle Bells, Jingle BELLS!!!
Noah and I have been up since 4am. Little Bear is running a slight temperature and wants to cuddle with his momma. I don’t mind, it’s actually really nice to just sit and cuddle with him and talk and read and dose. It’s very peaceful; but it’s now 7:00am and I need some coffee to survive the day somewhat pleasantly.
Our plans for Christmas Eve include a wonderful recipe from Laura at Mommy Run Fast for homemade whole wheat cinnamon rolls for breakfast. It is a bit of a work day for both me and Jim. Poor Noah will be shuffled around between the two of us today since we didn’t have childcare arrangements. But I just feel so lucky that I am able to take Noah to the office with me if needed and Jim has such a flexible job that we can make it work if we need to. Christmas Eve night, we will be gathering with wonderful friends for a Prime Rib Dinner hosted by our good bud, TD. I’m not much of a prime rib gal, but I am really really looking forward to all of the sides and appetizers. I never ever leave hungry and I’m surrounded by some of my favorite people! So fun!

Santa’s other reindeer, Stella
Christmas Day, I will make a breakfast casserole (per Jim’s request) and we will open Santa Claus’s gifts. It will be a lovely lazy day with no set schedule. There is a big ol’ present under the tree for me that Jim has been torturing me with since before we left for our trip home. It’s big and heavy and I have had everyone in the neighborhood come by to shake it and help me figure it out with no success. Boo! So I will have to wait 2 more days!!!! I have yet figured out what’s for dinner that night – my mom would be soooo disappointed, but I know I will rally and come up with something good.

Say Christmas!
Last week I only ran 3 days (for 25 miles for the week) but all three runs felt great. On Monday I ran 6 in the am here and followed that with an afternoon 4 miler. Thursday afternoon I met up with Nina for a 5 miler where my lungs were burning getting back to the Colorado altitude after being gone for 2 weeks. And Sundays run was a perfect 10 miler. I fully expected it to be a tough run but it felt amazing. I pushed hard up the hills and I cruised effortlessly down them finishing up in 1:22 (8:06 pace). I was not paying attention to pace and just going based on how I felt. I love those runs.

Noah’s a big light helper!
