How far along: 36 weeks! Less than a month to go!
Baby Development: According to all the websites, Baby’s skin is getting smooth and the liver and kidneys are in working order and circulation and immune system are basically good to go. The lungs are the only organs that still need just a little more time to fully mature, but every day we are a little closer to breathing on its own. Lil Spud is still packing on the pounds while waiting to greet us.
Milestones: I feel that the baby has dropped with the amount of pressure I feel now on my pelvis. Spud is still quite active, but the movements have changed. I now feel Spud changing positions and stretching rather than strong kicks or jabs. I didn’t think it was possible to go to the bathroom any more often than I did last week, but oh no, it’s possible.
Maternity clothes: Nothing new, but I have been stealing Jim’s sweatpants lately. There is so much more room in those bad boys.
Stretch marks: None spotted!! Happy dance!
Innie or Outie: It’s up for debate. Definitely not an innie. It’s between a Flattie and an Outie depending on the time of day.
Sleep: Ugh! Still having a hard time but plugging along.
Food Cravings: SWEETS!!! I have made brownies and chocolate chip cookies just this week. My co-workers love and hate me all at once.
Best Moment of the Week: I had my girlie baby shower Nov 7th at Rootdown I had a fabulous time surrounded by great girls. The food was incredible. I had the veggie burger sliders with sweet potato fries and then a couple of bites of the Nutella crepes. Yummo! I also got some great baby schwag! Safety kits, blankets, books, chew toys, cowboy boots, and decor for the nursery just to name a few. Jim also bought our Pack-N-Play. We are planning on using it as a bassinet beside our bed for the first few weeks.
Worst Moment of the Week: Thursday night and Friday were tough days for me. I was experiencing more pain and discomfort than usual Thursday evening. Lots of lower back pain and some abdominal pains for a couple of hours. We debated on calling the doctor a couple of times, but they have told us that it is usually nothing unless the pain gets stronger and it wasn’t getting stronger. So, we didn’t call the docs and I eventually fell asleep (ish). Friday morning I woke up feeling sore and just mentally exhausted (and physically from the lack of sleep). Friday was an 11 hour work day so I was REALLY dreading the day ahead knowing I had to be on my feet a lot and just having to be on. But my co-workers helped me rally and all was well (for an 11 hour work day).
Things I Miss: going for an easy jog with Stella, putting on my shoes and clothes easily, heck, doing anything easily.
Things I’m Looking Forward To: I have another busy week this week but all good things.
- Monday night childbirth class #3. We are really enjoying them.
- Tuesday evening is a potluck Colorado Therapeutic Recreation Society board meeting where I get to be around some incredible people in my field. Plus, my friend Jenna is spending the night
- Wednesday, the board is hosting an all-day conference and then I’m going to a breast feeding class that evening.
- Thursday, I’m taking our participants with developmental disabilities out to lunch and a movie.
- my 36 week appointment with my Dr. is Friday morning. I’m not sure what all to expect at the appointment, but I’m excited to go and hear what to expect next.
- THE WEEKEND!!! I’m looking forward to doing as little as possible.
Here are a couple of pictures from the shower. So busy gabbing we forgot to take pictures. Whoops!
