Nothing terribly exciting to post about but I know everyone likes to see Noah pictures. And there are plenty of those.

Noah

Noah is doing great. He is really getting to be a lot of fun with all of his new tricks. His latest trick is putting his left hand to his mouth. He can’t do the right one yet, but he’s practicing. He is sleeping alot better and is allowing Momma to link a few hours in a row. He now will sleep between 3-4 hours at a stretch at night. Yippie! During the day, his naps are between 20-45 minutes – usually just enough time for me to do a workout video or dishes or a load of laundry. When I’m feeling feisty, I can get all three done. He laughs and flirts a lot and we are just loving it!

Jim

Jim had a little flu bug Friday night/early Saturday morning so he spent all Saturday in the man cave and stayed away from me and Noah. It was so nice out this weekend that I just strapped Noah to me in the Baby Bjorn and we took Stella out for a nice long walk at Chatfield State Park and let Pappa sleep and rest. He’s feeling better and I’m sure planning out a fabulous Valentine’s Day for me…Ha, ha!

Me

I’m doing great. Last week, Nina invited me to go to yoga with her and her mom offered to babysit Noah for me so we could go. They give you a week free to try the studio out and I have been every opportunity I can sneak. The yoga studio is called Core Power Yoga and it is just delightful. After class I feel refreshed, sweaty, smelly, exhausted, renewed. My goal is to do it 3 times a week. I really enjoy this studio more than my last. I think the clincher for me is the cold scented wet towel they give you at the end of class. Awesome! The weather has improved so tomorrow I am venturing out with BOB the stroller and Noah for my 1st jog postpartum.

family updates

30 Jan

Noah

He’s a growin’! He has grown out of a few outfits already! Already! He is doing really well with his schedule. It is really helping all of us somewhat plan the day. His naps usually last between 30 minutes to 2 hours. At night, he sleeps between 2-4 hours. He has slept 4 hours in a row one time. It was glorious! I’m praying for more of those! I just bought a bathtub for him and he was loving it.

Jim

Jim has a birthday coming up on Wednesday, Groundhog’s Day!! I am taking him to Fujiyama, the Japanese Steakhouse he loves. I’m excited to give him his present too. I just hope he hasn’t already bought it for himself (this is usually my issue when finding a gift for Jim).

Stella

Stella is having a sleepover this weekend with her friend, Leia and they are having a big time. Leia has been around Noah twice before when I went to visit Nina so we weren’t too concerned about having another dog around Baby Boy. Stella is such a good big sister and very protective of Noah. So sweet.

Me

I had my 6 week postpartum OB appointment last Friday. Doc said she wanted me to wait 2 more weeks before resuming an exercise program, but I could continue to do what I was doing (light stretching, walking) but no jogging or running or weight lifting. I have been using one of our baby slings a little every day. It allows me to carry Baby Boy and have both hands. Noah usually conks out pretty quick once he gets in there (it must be dark and toasty in there).

When does a newborn stop being a newborn? Is it at 1 month, 2 months or 3 months? I’ve always wondered.

snow day for Noah

10 Jan

We got several inches of snow last night and early this morning. Yay for not having to get out in it!!! We couldn’t resist gearing Noah up in his snow outfit from Nana and Pa.

Noah the preciousness

Mom and Little Bear

We are all doing really well. We are attempting to put Noah on a schedule of Feed/Wake/Sleep and it is working well so far. It works like this:

7:ooam Feed- I do a full feeding (either 10 minutes on each breast followed by 5 minutes on each or 15 minutes on each breast) After our feeding, we spend about 30-45 minutes of Wake time doing anything, really. Singing, reading, or just hanging out with me or with dad. Then this is followed by Sleep time for 1-1/2 hours.

We repeat the process at 10:00am, 1:00pm, 4:00pm, 7:00pm, 10:00pm (no wake time, just feed then sleep), 1:00am or whenever he wakes up (no wake time, just feed then back to bed), 4:00am or whenever he wakes up (no wake time, just feed then back to bed) and then rise and shine at 7:00am to repeat the process. Eventually, we are hoping to lose one or both of the nighttime feedings, but until then, we are hanging in there and Noah seems happy with the new schedule.
